Somewhere in California riding bikes on the way to grab a beer.

Meet Rob Thompson, a handsome 32 year-old who loves cycling, socializing and drinking beer with friends after several hours on his bike.

Rob suffered a brain injury twelve years ago that left him in a wheelchair. But wheelchair aside, Rob is a social intellect who describes that his best days include riding a tandem trike with his dad (who designed and built it) followed by time at a beer hall or craft brewery.

We all feel passion for play in different ways and it’s truly a uniting bond of humanity. No matter the age, gender, faith, ability, physical make-up, etc., passion for play comes straight from our hearts and that’s something we can all excel at.

More with Rob:

Describe a bit about yourself:

I'm, I'd like to say a handsome, 32 year old, but I'll leave that up to people's own viewpoint. I'm fairly intellectual, I can hold my own. However, I am more social than intellectual. Apparently, I have a brain injury from a car accident 12 years ago, which explains why I am in a wheelchair.

What do you do for play?

I socialize, play video games, and I like to bike. My dad designed and built a tandem trike which we ride together regularly. My best days include biking to a beer hall or brewery. We like to drink craft beer.

How does play motivate you in your life?

Biking is motivational because it is fun and good exercise. It helps me keep a trim figure. It's my most fun form of therapy. I could bike everyday.

How do you benefit from it?

Aside from the exercise, it's fun to be out and about and away from my wheelchair. When I'm biking, I don't feel disabled. My physical therapist says the cadence in biking helps my brain relearn the cadence of walking.

Be Like Rob. Get out there and play. \\
