Map Love
Maps! How awesome are they? Even saying that word makes us happy here at Advanced Recess. So, for us to become fans of the team at Awesome Maps and all they do came very naturally. The crew there brings amazing places and hobbies to life through an assortment of inspiring maps and products and I’ve felt so grateful to get to know their marketing guru, Luana Tabîrca, over the past couple years. As we strive to support other passion-based businesses here at AR, I think it’s important to bring to life the people behind their missions and products. So, cheers to Luana and the incredible team at Awesome Maps who keep us inspired, curious and dreaming about exploring our beautiful world. Play is synonymous with exploring...Get out there!

Describe a little about yourself:
I'm a 20-something with a teenage heart and a love for the world, who's lived almost half her life at home and half abroad. In my other life, I work in marketing :)
What do you do for play?
I *play* volleyball in a local team, I run, do yoga, read books, go on bike rides, try to experience different parts of our planet first-hand and closer to home, just roam the streets with a cup of coffee in hand and no intention in mind.
Are you able to make a living from your version of play? If so, tell us more about that.
Yes and no. What we do and how we do it has a lot of play integrated in it, we go on trips together as a team, we cook together and exercise together virtually. We wouldn't be together if we weren't a team, but that's not what ultimately allows us all to make a living so that's why yes and no!
How does play motivate you in your life?
It keeps me sane :) Work and play sometimes cross paths in my life but when they don't, I carve out time for play, to keep me sane, and mentally and physically healthy for and sometimes because of work.
Our motto is Pursue a Life of Play. In your own words, what does this mean to you? How do you live it?
I get out there and explore! I try to go to the places on our maps and to include the places I've explored on our maps, too. I connect with people wherever I go because it's one of the things that makes me feel most alive…building genuine relationships.
