Life in a steady state of play…

From morning swims to feeling a sense of play in her marketing career, and from getting lost on her bike in the LA mountains to planning her next global adventure, Leesa Eichberger truly does life in a mindset of play. I met Leesa in 2018 when she reached out inGamba about joining a trip. A few days later, she was registered and a couple months later she was in Portugal. Her zest for life was apparent then and I feel fortunate to have developed a friendship with Leesa along the way. Last year, Leesa didn’t let the pandemic stop her from exploring and pursuing adventure as she did her first solo road trip through the west with plenty of stops for adventure along the way in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. She’s also relied on home culinary adventures to keep her traveling via her kitchen with lots of time cooking and trying new foods. The pandemic has certainly taught us all lessons this past year with one of them being how to keep a sense of exploration and how to find enriching experiences in somewhat challenging circumstances. Leesa has exceeded at that, and for this, we give her an A+ in Advanced Recess.

Here’s more with Leesa:

Describe a little about yourself:

There aren’t enough hours in the day to do all the fun things out there, but I’m sure trying to cram in as many as I can! Usually you’ll find me starting my day with an open water swim, or a run, or a bike ride. And I spend far too much time fantasizing about my next travel adventure.

How does play motivate you in your life?

Play allows me try new things, explore, spend time with friends, get lost in an activity or new place. And that, in turn, leaves me open to new ideas and experiences that only enrich life, work and future play.

Our motto is Pursue a Life of Play. In your own words, what does this mean to you? How do you live it?

For me, it means making time for things - large and small - that bring me joy
